The customer’s request to our partner Tecnoart was the creation of a bioclimatic solar greenhouse in this elegant villa in the north of Rome, with the dual function of bringing an energy benefit to the house and at the same time obtaining a large and elegant living/relaxation area. The design prepared by Tecnoart called for the creation of a Motus bioclimatic solar greenhouse with the S.70 sliding door system.
The Motus bioclimatic solar greenhouse is an exclusive roof that can be opened by two-thirds of the surface, with motorised opening that promotes an optimal internal bioclimate. This particular solution is made up of a modular structure in aluminium profiles that allows it to adapt to any building. The roof glazing can vary as needed: insulated panels were installed in this villa. The colour finish chosen is a “wood effect” that adapts perfectly to the environment, offering the pleasant sensation of warmth and hospitality.
The careful design by our partner, Tecnoart, also included the creation of an area used as a passageway before entering directly into the house. Practical and functional, it is also aesthetically pleasant and able to enrich the structure, even through a particular architectural element. Finally, along the entire perimeter of the bioclimatic solar greenhouse, aS.70 sliding door was installed. This safe and robust sliding glazed unit guarantees a significant aesthetic impact to the new environment.
“The structure that houses the Villa Ada management centre was in need of in-depth renovations, even from the structural point of view,” explains Luca Manoni, owner of Tecnoart, whom the owner contacted to restore the antique lustre to this large, prestigious office centre in the Capital. “The old area was rundown and a coordinated and structured intervention was essential and resulted from the teamwork between the owner, installing company, and manufacturer of the Motus system.“
The project first saw the removal of all existing beams, followed by the state-of-the-art installation and implementation of the new Motus roof, over 60 m2, that was finished quickly and with no critical issues.
The Motus sliding roof was naturally the ideal solution to be able to create a closure/opening based on the period of the year and weather, in correspondence with the central part of the building, in order to make the space underneath permanently useable. Thanks to the Motus completely openable aluminium and glass system, natural air circulation and maximum light are ensured to enhance and protect the area’s beautiful Mediterranean garden as well.
Creative cocktails, courteous bartenders, and a trendy atmosphere: this is the Bel Mondo Club in Szombathely, the oldest city in Hungary and a destination for numerous tourists every year. And a business in step with the times needs designs that are just as innovative. For this reason, our partner, Sunwood, perfectly installed a Puro roof and S.30 folding doors, all by Sunroom, of course. The elegant furnishings and interior decorations of the Bel Mondo Club called for solutions that were able to combine practicality and style, just like the Sunroom elements that were used.
Puro is the aluminium and glass system that allowed the creation of a flat roof thanks to the special horizontal construction that allows you to hide the slope of the beams. The design called for a structure that is six metres long and four metres deep that perfectly balances the more classic elements inside the building with masonry arches. Two S.30 folding doors, about three metres each are located on the front of the Bel Mondo Club to take advantage of all the potential of the surrounding space so that they “disappear” easily with the arrival of good weather, stacking up on one side to take up the least amount of space possible. The glass used is layered and the bottom track is recessed. The anthracite grey profiles blend into the elegant and original style of the Bel Mondo Club.
In the Styria region, in Austria, as part of a renovation project for a typical Austrian home, our partner Glavassevich Wintergärtner GmbH created a new conservatory with living and relaxation area, inserting two distinct Sunroom structures, (Puro and Puro TT with thermal break profiles) and a S.150 TT minimal sliding door system, also by Sunroom.
The design is in complete harmony with both the landscape and the architectural context. Using Sunroom products, an innovative solution was found that enhances the outdoor areas, making them usable throughout the year. Specifically, the project was aimed at stimulating the desire to use this large (now habitable) terrace, respecting the special features of the building and its sustainability.
The first Puro TT structure with thermal break profiles is located to the right of the building and is ca. 25 m2 with a roof glazing with 48 mm insulated panels. The snow load is 160 kg/m2 and the beams are steel-reinforced to cope with the heavy snowfall during Styria winters. For maximum thermal comfort, the front of the structure has S.150 TT minimal sliding doors with three panels, while the sides have the two-panel type. Both systems have triple-glazing. The installation of the second Puro structure with non-thermal profiles allows the outdoor space to be flexible with outdoor, practical, and functional furnishings. This area is about 30 m2 with glazing in the roof made up of multi-layered glass.
The Sunroom conservatory integrates perfectly in this exclusive space, which is now completely usable, and contributes to making the house unique and an expression of those who live there.
The Busaba Thai Restaurant is a little taste of Bangkok in the heart of the new Olympic Stadium area in Stratford. Just like in Thailand, the delicious dishes are prepared to be shared and enjoyed in company. To welcome the many guests who decide to stop, the Sunroom Puro aluminium system was chosen and was installed by our English partner, Crown Outdoor Ltd.
The Sunroom Puro system runs along the front of the building for 12 metres and is three metres deep, made up of eleven modules with aluminium and glass profiles. The glazing chosen is 10 mm multi-layered glass. The finish on the profiles, with a dark brown electrocolour, is in harmony with the colours chosen for the interior and main windows and doors. The special feature of the Sunroom Puro system is the flat roof that makes it innovative and modern and the ideal solution for the commercial area of the Busaba Thai Restaurant. In this area full of public businesses, a covered outdoor area undoubtedly offers a competitive advantage and increases business possibilities thanks to the greater number of tables available.

To take advantage of the sunlight, during the design phase, the orientation of the bioclimatic solar greenhouse was evaluated to promote energy savings and comfort. The design by Arch. Proietti in collaboration with the installer partner, Baltera srl, called for the use of the Clima aluminium and glass system for bioclimatic solar greenhouses with 12 fields of glass for maximum brightness. The slender profiles and custom finishes made the difference in choosing Clima.
With the changing of the seasons, the way the Clima bioclimatic solar greenhouse is used also changes. Thanks to the installation of the S.70 sliding door, it is possible to maintain the heat of the sun’s rays through the glazed surfaces in the cooler periods. In the summer, on the other hand, the sliding system can open to promote a natural and constant air exchange.
